Jay Ucci (pronounced You See) joins the team this year as a Varsity Assistant Coach. Originally from Howell, New Jersey, Coach Ucci brings his experience from Howell High School where he was a key to the success of the program. Leading the team with his aggressive style, Ucci holds the school record for most takedowns in a season.
His team captured the A North team championship two years in a row and were a top ten team in the state. Coach Ucci was a 2X District and Regional Finalist and was also 2X Top 12 in New Jersey. It is no surprise that he stands on the All-Time Howell High School Wrestling Team.
Ucci continued his wrestling career briefly at East Stroudsburg University. After that, Jay caught the coaching bug and started his career. He began with Howell Predator Recreation Program where he served as Head Coach for two years and followed that with coaching at Shore Thing Wrestling Club.
He instills some of the most important offensive moves in our young wrestlers because of his own prowess on his feet. This should be an exciting year with him on our team.
Mr. Ucci currently works on Aberdeen Proving Grounds in the CECOM Contracting Center.
In his spare time, Jay enjoys working out. He currently resides in Abingdon.
